  • DJ Connection was founded in 1999, by Clay Clark out of his college dorm room.
  • In 2002, Clay Clark was named “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Metro Chamber of Commerce
  • In 2003, Clay Clark and Lori Montag (Founder of Montag Montag, Zany Bandz and SLAP Watch) founded the Tulsa Bridal Association.

  • In 2005, DJ Connection began winning countless awards including: Named by Modern Bride Magazine as one of America’s Hottest 150 Bands and Entertainers, the American Wedding Association “Wedding Vendor of the Year” and the Better Business Bureau’s distinguished “Accredited Business Award.”
  • In 2007, DJ Connection and Founder, Clay Clark received national attention when then received the U.S. Small Business Administration Entrepreneur of the Year.
  • In 20o7, DJ Connection Founder Clay Clark received recognition from the Oklahoma Magazine as being “One of Oklahoma’s Top 40 Entrepreneurs Under the Age of 40.”
  • In 2007, Jason Bailey created the proprietary software system that DJ Connection uses today called Gandaph. It’s this software that allows DJ Connection to customize the scheduling of every event.
  • 2008 – As the result of a conversation with the Chet Cadieux, the President of QuikTrip, DJ Connection began immediately implementing a merit-based pay structure that revolutionized the way the company operated, essentially the reviews of each and every client now determined the size of everyone’s paychecks. Good shows = good pay for our people.
  • In 2008-2009, DJ Connection expanded in to Dallas, Oklahoma City and Kansas City. During this time DJ Connection was named as the U.S. Chamber “National Blue Ribbon Quality Award Winner.” During this year, DJ Connection again was honored by the Knot.com as being their “Best of the Best” Award Winners.
  • In 2009 – 2010 – DJ Connection was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Network and the “Don’t Tell the Bride Show,” TLC and their “Say Yes To the Dress Show.” DJ Connection entertained for Chuck Norris’ family, and countless other celebrity families as we solidified our place as the “entertainment of choice” for the people who want to have a great time. During these years, DJ Connection was one again honored with the “Best of the Best” Awards by TheKnot.com.

  • 2010 – DJ Connection Founder, Clay Clark names Jason Bailey as the President of the Company to facilitate the rapid growth. Jason Bailey begins introducing a variety of new products that brides and grooms have been requesting while moving the company out of the party rental aspects of the business.
  • 2011 – DJ Connection was named by the Journal Record as being one of “Oklahoma’s Fastest Growing 40 Companies.” DJ Connection was named again as the “Best of the Best” by TheKnot.com
  • 2012 – DJ Connection received honors by TheKnot.com as the “Best of the Best” Award Winner and we moved to our downtown location at 1609 South Boston to accomodate our rapid expansion. Currently, and thanks to the support of great customers like you the only limiter on our growth looks to be our ability to find, hire and train more great DJ Connection DJs.

 

Since entering the wedding business in 1999, we have been blessed with the opportunity to entertain for well over 25,000 events, and yes this number is staggering to us. However, despite the tremendous levels of success that we have been able to achieve throughout the years, we have always remained focused on wowing and over-delivering to each and every client. At DJ Connection we believe in Napoleon Hill’s philosophy of over-delivering and going the extra mile it takes to wow each and every client. And to make sure that we never stray from this core principle, at DJ Connection we all get paid based on merit-based pay system.

Similar to QuikTrip, Southwest Airlines or Disney, we simply pay our employees based on how happy our customers are and not the number of hours each employee works. We believe that Sam Walton (Founder of Walmart) was write with his belief that the “Customer is the boss” and has the ability to fire everyone from the Chairman of the Board on down simply by choosing to spend their money somewhere else.
